OUTLINE

A funeral expense cover, also known as funeral insurance or burial insurance, is a type of insurance policy designed to provide financial assistance to cover the costs associated with a person’s funeral and burial after their death. It primarily aims to ease the financial burden on the deceased’s family or beneficiaries during a difficult and emotional time.

DETAILS AND BENEFITS

The policyholder pays regular premiums to the insurance provider. Upon their passing, the designated beneficiaries receive a lump sum payment or benefits that can be used to cover funeral-related expenses. These expenses may include funeral service arrangements, casket or urn costs, burial or cremation fees, transportation, memorial service costs, and other related fees.

Exclusions: This policy does not pay on death claims caused by:

  • Drunkenness.
  • Suicide
  • Cosmetic surgery
  • Natural death that occurs less than three months after subscription.
